OverviewDue to an internal promotion we are seeking a Production Shift Manager to help manage and deliver our production plan at our refinery. The position will focus on managing a team of up to 15 on shift and help upskill and ensure targets are met. This role is a great opportunity to progress your career and work on future projects.
Responsibilities- Ensure site safety, hygiene, environment and quality performance standards are met or bettered on a “24/7” basis.
- Operate the process consistently to meet daily/weekly production plans at the lowest achievable refining cost, striving for best practice.
- Ensure all products are within specification 100% of the time to avoid customer complaints and promote Customer Driven Quality.
- Integrate all operating areas of the business on a 24/7 basis so that refinery performance is optimised and customer expectations met.
- Manage reactive maintenance to ensure minimum cost and downtime.
- Manage the Refining Operators on crew to best effect to ensure above targets are met.
- Guide and mentor the shift team with respect to problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Assist the Area Technical Managers in the optimisation of their plant areas by involving the crew teams where appropriate.
- Support and be engaged with relevant project activities and Capital Expenditure, as needed.
- Educated to degree standard.
- Good understanding of food production process operations.
- Proven line management experience.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and with people inside and outside the organisation.
- Good understanding of TLS working practices and procedures.
- Ability to coordinate and take control during high-pressure emergency incident situations.
- A team of up to fifteen process operators and technicians.
