Shift3‑week rotation: 1 week days, 1 week afternoons & 1 week nights.
Position ScopeProcessing raw ingredients to produce value‑added products for the Plaistow packing lines and bulk customers, including LGS & flavoured blends on a shift basis.
DetailedRoles & Responsibilities
- Operate the plant in compliance with all SHEQ standards, with thorough knowledge of bulk chemicals and associated risks.
- Achieve required processing volume while maintaining process specifications such as brix, colour, pH, ash, and hardness. Control critical process points and inputs (syrup and chemicals).
- Perform testing and maintain records for traceability.
- Sample and record water quality for utilities such as cooling tower, steam boilers, and water softeners.
- Provide flexible cover for the Process Shift Supervisor.
- Prepare flavoured syrup/sauce blends by recipe against required specification.
- Load bulk and return tankers and blend process ingredients to recipe, ensuring hygiene standards.
- Control material release of all syrup products by filter and visual check; minimise concession through tight specifications.
- Adhere to BRC and customer standards with accurate recording of operational data.
- Maintain SHEQ standards and records for product traceability and audit requirements.
- Control retained retail pack samples and customer bulk samples for traceability exercises.
- Possess thorough knowledge of all syrup packing lines and utilities for hygiene, routing, routine testing, and troubleshooting.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement program by monitoring and driving triggers.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders.
- Good prioritising, analytical and team‑working skills.
- Supervisory experience is beneficial.
- Effective communication at all levels within the business.
- Self‑motivated with responsibility for decisions impacting production, flexibility, labour & costs.
- Good computer skills, especially MS Word & Excel.
- High numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to provide basic holiday/sick cover for the Plaistow Shift Supervisor.
- Detailed knowledge of complex process operations.
- High proficiency in SAP (Inventory, C of A, & production modules).
- CI capability/experience.
- GCSE/A‑level standard, preferably in Chemistry and/or another science.
- Experience with in a FMCG/Food Manufacturing organisation.
