****** The Role
** The successful candidate will combine technical ability and creativity with strong interpersonal and communication skills as they take on a leading role in the execution of ambitious objectives within the UK Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) market.
As AVP, Client Solutions for PL Re’s Savings & Retirement line of business in the UK you will lead and expand our client relationships across all UK counter parties, seek out innovative solutions to complex problems across longevity and asset-intensive reinsurance structures and play a crucial role in the design, development and execution of our longer term strategic objectives both in the UK and as part of the wider S&R team.
The strategic importance of the UK market will provide significant visibility with the S&R Executive Committee and with wider senior global stakeholders.
** Key responsibilities
**** Client Management
*** Building strong working relationships with both key day-to-day and senior management contacts across clients, consultants, brokers/EBCs and banks, and demonstrating visibility personally and on behalf of PL Re.
* Focus on a holistic approach to client management, establishing clear understanding of client needs and tailoring bespoke approaches accordingly.
* Maintain cultural alignment in approach to client management, acting as partners not suppliers, exercising pragmatism, being creative and solution driven in meeting client needs/objectives.
* Ensuring regular communication kept open with key contacts through regular catch-ups and multi-disciplinary meetings as necessary.
* Fulfil basic functions of client management, including effective preparation and follow-up, effective chairing of meetings, collaboration with team members to ensure consistency of approach across markets.
** Quote Delivery & Structuring
*** Ultimate accountability for quote delivery, supporting Manager, Client Solutions and Client Support Manager(s) in day-to-day quote management, setting quote strategy, proposal of commercial terms, internal stakeholder management and managing governance processes.
* Adopt and promote a solution mindset to commercial problems, co-ordinating the input from subject matter experts with in-depth knowledge of client needs to solve complex propositional challenges.
* Active involvement in Pricing sign-off process including input of wider market context and providing constructive challenge.
* Working alongside Client Solutions and Pricing representatives from wider S&R business to manage deal pipeline and resourcing decisions.
* Lead contractual structuring, treaty drafting and negotiation as the subject matter expert in deal specifics, client specifics and key commercial terms.
** Strategy
* ** Key role in supporting the VP/MVP, Client Solutions in designing, developing and executing on strategy for asset-intensive and longevity only reinsurance in the UK Pension Risk Transfer market.
* Continually develop UK Client Networking strategy seeking to ensure key client stakeholders across all levels maintain strong connections with relevant individuals at PL Re.
* Support wider efforts within Line of Business to deliver on S&R work streams as part of Pacific Life Enterprise strategic objectives over timeframe (‘Strategy Next’)
** Team Development/Management
*** Coaching and mentoring responsibility for Manager, Client Solutions responsible for development and wellbeing through managing workload, exposure to stretching tasks and building day-to-day responsibilities.
* Lateral information sharing and upskilling across AVP peer group with breadth of markets, products, responsibilities and skillsets providing significant opportunities for growth individually and as a team.
* Proactively support quote team individuals across Insurance and Deal Pricing, giving exposure to wider deal strategy, how deals fit into the bigger picture both internally and externally, generously sharing market knowledge and providing constructive challenge.# #
