Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead all health, safety and compliance activities on a high-profile construction project in North West London. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving a positive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, and supporting the delivery team in achieving best-in-class health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all site health & safety operations in line with current UK legislation including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- Develop, implement and monitor the Construction Phase Plan
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Review and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, producing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions
- Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks
- Liaise with the Principal Contractor, subcontractors and external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive
- Provide guidance and support to site management to ensure safe systems of work
- Monitor compliance with company policies and ISO standards
- Produce regular health & safety performance reports for senior management
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within UK construction (main contractor experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of current UK health & safety legislation
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum) - NEBOSH Diploma desirable
- Chartered or working towards membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to influence and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Experience working on large-scale residential, commercial or mixed-use developments
