Interim Director of Operations – Adult Social Care (South East)

We are working with a care provider in the South East who are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Director of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across their Adult Social Care services during a period of transition.

The successful candidate will take the lead on ensuring high‑quality, safe, and person‑centred services across all adult social care functions. You’ll provide stability, direction, and pace while supporting the Managers in various settings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership support across a variety of adult social care services
• Driving performance improvement and embedding best practice across teams
• Supporting workforce stability and fostering a positive, collaborative culture
• Working closely with external providers
• Offering clear, confident decision‑making during a period of change

We’re looking for a seasoned Operations Director who can quickly build credibility and bring calm, focused leadership. You will bring:

• Extensive senior operational experience within adult social care
• A strong grasp of legislation, safeguarding, and regulatory expectations
• A track record of leading teams
• The ability to hit the ground running and provide immediate impact

Location: South East (hybrid working available)

Duration: 3 months

Start: ASAP

Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
