We are seeking a Global Business Management Director to play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the global GTS strategy, driving performance, strengthening governance, and enabling effective delivery across a complex, international matrix.
Role PurposeReporting to the Global Head of Business Performance, this role is accountable for translating GTS strategy into execution. The role ensures clarity of global priorities, effective resource allocation, strong governance, and delivery of strategic initiatives that support sustainable revenue growth, cost discipline, and organisational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy & Execution:
Lead the development, articulation, and implementation of the global GTS strategy, including priorities, targets, and strategic initiatives aligned to Group objectives. - Business Management & Performance:
Drive global business management disciplines, including planning, financial oversight, cost control, and performance management. - Operating Model & Transformation:
Shape and deliver the GTS target operating model, organisation design, and transformation initiatives. - Governance, Risk & Control:
Ensure effective governance, operational risk management, and adherence to regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements. - Insights & Decision Support:
Provide high-quality, timely insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making and investment evaluation. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with senior stakeholders across GTS, CIB, Finance, Risk, Compliance, HR, Marketing, and regional leadership teams. - People & Culture:
Lead the GTS people agenda, building leadership capability, high-performing teams, and an inclusive, high-engagement culture. - Thought Leadership:
Position GTS as a market leader through internal and external engagement, strategic communications, and industry participation. - Operate effectively in a global matrix environment, influencing across regions and functions without direct authority.
- Drive alignment, consistent messaging, and execution across diverse markets and stakeholders.
- Ensure fair treatment of customers and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational and conduct risks.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure timely remediation of audit and regulatory issues.
- Working knowledge of GTS, the trade products and the market dynamics. Understanding of global markets, client needs, and commercial drivers.
- Proven track record in enterprise-level strategy development and execution, including performance management, investment prioritisation, and delivery of large-scale strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated success operating in global, matrixed organisations, influencing senior stakeholders across regions and functions without direct authority.
- Strong commercial, financial, and governance acumen, with experience in business planning, cost management, and operating within regulated environments.
- Experience leading operating model change, organisation design, or transformation, translating strategy into executable outcomes.
- Exceptional communication, judgment, and leadership capability, with experience advising and challenging senior executives and building high-performing teams.
