As a Resource Planner you will work with the support of the Resource Manager and business unit leadership to support the scheduling of practitioners across Audit & Assurance. The role is pivotal in the implementation and delivery of Resource Management services to provide operational excellence while supporting delivery of the business talent strategy. You will achieve this by working closely with audit teams and internal departments to ensure the effective deployment, utilization and development of on and offshore resources.

Within this role, you will develop your stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills to prepare yourself for progression at a later stage.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Build winning teams:
    Collaborate with engagement team leaders to allocate the right mix of practitioners to audit teams, balancing client needs, business priorities, and practitioner preferences.
  • Oversee resource scheduling and team operations:
    Ensure the effective management of all bookings and the accuracy of the Dayshape resource planning system, providing oversight and troubleshooting support to the U2 Resource Planner. Ensure the delivery of a reliable business forecast across the financial year.
  • Monitor and analyse performance metrics:
    Track and analyse key performance metrics such as utilisation, available time, sickness levels, and other non‑chargeable activities. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership to support the business in achieving its financial plan.
  • Plan for development: develop a detailed knowledge of the audit training and professional qualification pathways, ensuring practitioner compliance and schedule accuracy.
  • Become a trusted advisor:
    Develop strong working relationships with engagement team leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure Resource Management strategies align with business needs and priorities.
  • Drive Resource Management innovation:
    Leverage emerging technologies to improve resourcing processes, identifying and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster team collaboration:
    Act as a role model within the Resource Management group, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a positive team culture.
