Event Manager / Planner
We are looking for an experienced, hard-working and motivated Theatre Manager to lead Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, which is the home to the world premiere of The Hunger Games:
On Stage.
They will be an experienced leader with a broad understanding of people management, operations management and building compliance. They should have an understanding of production requirements and the delivery of large-scale events within a hospitality or F&B environment.
The Theatre Manager will report directly to the Head of Group Operations and oversee all departments within the venue, working closely with the Restaurant, Bar, Facilities & Technical, and Front of House teams with the ethos of making Canary Wharf Theatre and its restaurant a go-to destination for audiences, events, and local residents alike.
The Theatre Manager will oversee the management and relationship of all contractors and clients within the venue, and work closely with the heads of departments to ensure the venue is compliant, efficient and cost-effective. They will be the key point of contact for all producers or clients who hire the venue.

PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL:- Extensive experience of managing a large team in an arts or events environment
- Exceptional financial acumen, with a commercial mindset and experience managing a substantial budget / P&L
- Strong understanding of Employment Law in relation to casual and permanent workers
- Significant exposure to venue, facilities and H&S management
- Experience and knowledge of delivering accessible services
- Demonstrable experience of implementing a customer service strategy
- Personal license holder - the Theatre Manager will be the DPS
- Experience with ACAS or a qualification with the CIPD
- Knowledge of the service/hospitality industry for restaurants and bars
- Interest in theatre and the arts
- An organised, flexible approach to day to day responsibilities
- A creative and resourceful approach to problem solving
- A confident, friendly and professional manner with excellent people skills
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise effectively, delegate when needed and multi-task

- Permanent, full time
- Variable shift pattern between Monday & Sunday with evening, weekend & Bank Holiday working as required
