Location: Greater London

The Conference Director will be responsible for overseeing and leading the strategic planning, organization, and execution of large-scale conferences and events. This role requires a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of event logistics, vendor management, budgeting, and client relationships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conference management, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering seamless and impactful events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of high-profile conferences, ensuring all aspects of the event run smoothly.
  • Develop and manage the event strategy, working closely with clients to understand their goals and deliver on their expectations.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of event management, from concept and budget creation to post-event analysis.
  • Lead and mentor a team of event managers, coordinators, and support staff to ensure effective teamwork and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, speakers, and vendors.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and timely execution.
  • Ensure that all logistical elements, including venue selection, catering, AV setups, transportation, and accommodations, are aligned with client needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the event and ensure optimal attendance and engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions to enhance event experiences.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during the event planning and execution phases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in event management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale conferences and corporate events.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of event logistics, vendor management, and budgeting.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in Dubai or the UAE.
  • Expertise in handling high-profile international conferences.
  • Experience in working with government and corporate clients.
  • Strong understanding of digital event solutions and hybrid event management.
