Senior Portfolio Manager
- Permanent
- London (Hybrid 1-2 days a week in the office) - £75,000 - £82,000

My client, a Housing Association, is recruiting for a Senior Portfolio Manager to join the team to support a major programme of change. The successful candidate will play a vital part in shaping and coordinating the transformation portfolio and provide strategic oversight, clarity and structure needed to ensure the transformation roadmap is a success.

Role Duties:
  • Act as the central coordination point for the transformation portfolio
  • Lead the creation and ongoing management of high‑level transformation planning: sequencing major work streams, identifying pinch points, spotting gaps, and ensuring alignment.
  • Engage with diverse business areas, including those new to transformation, helping them understand, contribute to, and navigate the journey.
  • Provide expert guidance to a team with an acknowledged skills gap in portfolio planning — shaping the approach, identifying needs, and setting direction.
  • Maintain an outward‑looking view of risks, dependencies, and opportunities that could impact transformation delivery.
  • Bring professionalism, clarity, and influence to senior stakeholders through excellent communication and strong stakeholder management.
Experience required
  • An experienced portfolio planner/manager with demonstrable experience guiding large, complex transformation portfolios.
  • Expertise in enterprise‑level planning, with a track record of creating and managing portfolio roadmaps (beyond project or programme‑level planning).
  • Someone who is confident advising others, introducing best practice, and operating autonomously.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to work across a wide range of teams.
  • Comfortable working in a developing environment with the freedom to shape ways of working.
  • Housing experience is highly desirable.
