Description

As a Facilities Manager for Apple’s retail stores across the UK, you will be instrumental in ensuring they operate as outstanding spaces, consistently delivering high-quality environments for our customers and teams. This role requires a proactive leader with a proven track record in facilities management, capable of overseeing all aspects of store maintenance, operations, and strategic improvements across a dynamic retail portfolio.

You will drive operational excellence, manage budgets, lead vendor relationships, and collaborate cross‑functionally to uphold Apple’s high standards of quality and design.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all facilities services for Apple retail stores throughout the UK, with the role capable of expanding to other retail regions and non‑retail sites as required.
  • Deliver comprehensive facilities reports, conduct audits, and oversee the daily operational administration of work orders.
  • Proactively engage with and support Retail stores, ensuring their operational needs are consistently met.
  • Conduct routinely scheduled, structured site visits (minimum twice a month) to each assigned store location, with flexibility for frequent travel and overnight stays required, to identify and address facility issues, perform comprehensive service reviews, and oversee major work.
  • Diagnose, handle, and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently, including prioritizing and assigning repairs.
  • Support store acceptance and turnover of various projects and programs through oversight of commissioning agents and contractors.
  • Collaborate with and directly manage a diverse range of vendors, suppliers, general contractors, consultants, and maintenance service providers.
  • Ensure successful delivery of contracted maintenance services, managing performance through work order systems, regular check‑ins, store tours, and fiscal evaluations.
  • Lead competitive bidding processes and assist in the negotiation of Statements of Work (SOWs), CPSAs, and project‑specific contracts.
  • Responsible for Opex and Capex budget creation, management, and forecasting for the respective Geo, utilizing tools such as Service Channel.
  • Drive functional and operational excellence across all projects and programs by providing consistent feedback to cross‑functional teams including Real Estate, Design, Innovation, Standards, Merchandising, Direct Sourcing, Security, and IS&T.
  • Provide continuous feedback to Development and RDDM design teams to improve building functionality and material selection.
  • Lead facilities support employees and contractors, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of operations services.
  • Coordinate effective responses to emergency situations that may impact store operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in facilities management, with a demonstrated focus on delivering and/or maintaining outstanding retail stores or workplaces.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create and closely monitor comprehensive Preventative Maintenance plans.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with facility operation teams, utility companies, government agencies, architectural & design firms, and general contracting firms.
  • Significant expertise in the upkeep and function of buildings, including complex building systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, fire‑alarm).
