Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) operates the UK's international high-speed railway, serving major stations including London St Pancras International, Stratford International, and Ebbsfleet International. The role involves leading on-ground operations, guiding a team, managing complex situations, and ensuring high standards of service and safety for passengers.
Responsibilities- Leading with Purpose and Integrity: provide clear, confident, and compassionate leadership; foster accountability, respect, and continuous improvement; support team development.
- Managing Incidents and Emergencies: act as primary point of contact during incidents, emergencies, and security situations; coordinate responses and maintain safety as a top priority.
- Collaborating Across the Network: build relationships with train operating companies, retail partners, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth station operations and customer care.
- Championing Safety, Accessibility, and Compliance: ensure activities comply with safety, environmental, and accessibility regulations; promote a proactive safety culture and address risks promptly.
- Driving Operational Excellence and Innovation: identify opportunities to improve station performance, enhance customer experience, and contribute to strategic planning and future direction.
We seek individuals who are skilled, experienced, and passionate about people, service, and leadership. Rail experience is helpful but not required; the ability to lead, adapt, and inspire is essential.
Essential Attributes and Qualifications- Experience in leading and developing teams in fast-paced, customer-facing environments
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent planning and organisational abilities
- Genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
- Willingness to undertake and complete safety and incident management training
- Commitment to inclusion, equity, and continuous professional development
- Experience in safety management, incident response, or incident investigation
- Commercial awareness including budgets or contracts
- Proficiency in IT systems, data analysis, and operational reporting
- Familiarity with railway operations or infrastructure projects
- Incident management experience (training provided)
