Electrical Project Director

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major data centre project. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality, safety, and client relationships on a complex, mission-critical development.

The role requires a proven leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects for a main contractor or M&E contractor.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the data centre project

* Take full responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and safety performance

* Lead and manage project teams including construction, commercial, engineering, and commissioning

* Act as the primary point of contact with the client, consultants, and key stakeholders

* Oversee procurement strategy and supply chain performance

* Ensure compliance with contract requirements, technical standards, and client specifications

* Drive risk management, value engineering, and change control processes

* Monitor progress against key milestones and ensure successful project delivery

* Oversee commissioning, testing, and final handover of the facility

* Ensure project governance, reporting, and controls are maintained

Essential Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on data centre or mission-critical projects

* Strong background working for a main contractor or M&E contractor

* Demonstrated success delivering large, complex projects to programme and budget

* Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management expertise

* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

* In-depth understanding of construction delivery within critical environments

* Ability to manage multiple work streams and senior project teams

Desirable

* Direct experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data centres

* Background in electrical or mechanical engineering

* Experience with international or fast-track data centre projects

* Familiarity with commissioning and phased handover strategies

* Professional qualifications such as MCIOB, MAPM, or equivalent
