About The Role
We are looking for a Capital PMO Lead Officer to join our team to support the delivery of the Council’s ambitious New Homes Programme and other capital funded projects. Increasing the supply of genuinely affordable homes makes an essential contribution to addressing the housing crisis and you will be playing a vital role in ensuring we can do this.
This post holder will lead work on developing the Capital Programme Management Office (PMO), ensuring that robust governance is in place and is being adhered to, gateway approvals are recorded, projects are managed and monitored effectively, to achieve delivery on time, on budget and to the required quality and that there is oversight at a senior level at each stage of the process.
You will have an excellent understanding of the way a PMO works. You will understand the Council’s Constitution, Financial Regulations and Procurement Rules and use this understanding to support others. You will be able to use the Power Bi corporate data portal and information management systems to monitor and record project information and progress and will help develop a dashboard for reporting outcomes and updates to the relevant governance boards.
You will manage a small team comprising of a Programme Information Officer, a Governance Officer (New Homes), three Project Support Officers and an apprentice. You will be an effective communicator, be able to build good working relationships with internal stakeholders and senior officers. You will be highly motivated, and value driven and focussed on delivering the best outcomes for local residents.
