We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Tax to oversee the tax practice of a prestigious client within the professional services sector. This role offers the chance to lead a diverse team and manage a varied client portfolio, providing a unique blend of autonomy and professional challenge.

• Lead the tax department, ensuring efficient management and meeting of all operational targets.
• Produce and analyse reports to enhance departmental efficiencies and set strategic goals.
• Conduct regular meetings to review progress and align departmental objectives with overall business goals.
• Oversee the training and development of team members, ensuring high standards of performance.
• Manage client interactions, providing expert tax advice and maintaining high levels of service.
• Develop and implement strategies for client acquisition and retention.
• Coordinate with external agencies for outsourcing tax processes when necessary.
• Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
• Produce and disseminate technical content such as newsletters and detailed tax planning reports.
• Manage a select portfolio of high-priority clients, ensuring compliance and providing bespoke advice.

• CTA qualification preferred, with substantial experience in a leadership role within tax practice.
• Expert knowledge of tax regulations, especially pertaining to private clients, non-domiciled individuals, and SMEs.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio through complex tax cycles.
• Strong research skills with the capability to formulate detailed advice and reports.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of handling sensitive client situations with discretion.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of developing successful teams.
• Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
