The Strategic Development & Delivery team works in partnership with stakeholders across the institution, combining specialist expertise, sector knowledge and institutional awareness to support the delivery of our vision to 2028 and beyond. This new Directorate comprises four main portfolios:
Insights & Decision Support, Strategy & Performance, Portfolio & Benefits, and Change & Improvement. These service areas facilitate effective decision‑making, improve our staff and student experience, and deliver lasting positive change.
As a Senior Project Manager you will join at an exciting time, overseeing significant and transformational programmes and projects across UEL. You will ensure new projects are initiated well, then smoothly managed across all stages of the UEL project lifecycle. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day delivery and tasks, lead the development and delivery of the project plan, implement associated governance, and provide regular reporting to Programme Manager and Project Sponsor as required.
As the driving force behind effective project benefits management, you will ensure projects deliver on their objectives and contribute towards achieving the University’s strategy.
- Deliver projects successfully across the full lifecycle – from initiation and implementation through to smooth transition into business‑as‑usual services.
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Engage and influence stakeholders effectively at all levels, ensuring alignment, communication, and commitment to project objectives.
- Apply strategic awareness and sound judgement to drive decision‑making and ensure project success.
- Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, prioritising effectively within a fast‑paced, complex environment.
- Use emotional intelligence and resilience to manage challenges and maintain positive relationships.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the University’s project and transformation portfolio.
- Champion positive change and deliver projects that create lasting impact for the UEL community.
You are an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering successful projects within large or complex organisations. You are confident leading projects through the full lifecycle – from business case to delivery and transition – ensuring outcomes that create lasting impact.
You bring strong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills, underpinned by excellent organisational ability, strategic awareness and emotional intelligence. You are resilient under pressure, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and are passionate about driving positive change. Above all, you are a collaborative, forward‑thinking team player excited to contribute to UEL’s Vision 2028 and help shape the future through innovation, inclusion and impact.
