Job DescriptionGenesis Energies is expanding the Environment and Sustainability Team and has a vacancy for a Sustainability Study Manager
. The role requires knowledge and experience of sustainability management topics, including development of sustainability strategies and application of ESG frameworks. The successful candidate will oversee workload and resourcing for a team of environmental and sustainability professionals while continuing to work on projects to advance their own technical development.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work as part of the Environmental & Sustainability Delivery Team within Genesis, supporting a wide range of clients on varied projects.
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and management approaches, with experience applying them in a consulting setting, is essential.
The role combines three elements across client engagement, project delivery and tendering, and line management.
Client Engagement and Tendering- Engage with clients to determine their requirements
- Provide proposal input and preparation
- Identify new markets and service offerings related to sustainability advisory services
- Project Management: lead and manage sustainability and ESG projects from inception to completion, acting as the main technical and commercial contact and overseeing resources and budgets
- Conduct Sustainability Assessments: evaluate an organisation’s current practices, policies, and impacts to identify areas for improvement
- Develop Sustainability Strategies: create tailored action plans aligned with goals and regulatory requirements
- Advise on Sustainable Practices: provide guidance on sustainable technologies, practices, and compliance with environmental legislation
- Coordinate allocation of appropriate personnel across projects, considering skills and learning opportunities
- Provide leadership and line reporting to a team of environmental and sustainability consultants, engineers and scientists
- Develop and retain talent within the team, motivating members to meet targets
The successful applicant must have:
- A degree in a relevant subject
- Knowledge of relevant frameworks, legislation and standards
- Project management experience on small to medium projects
- Experience in client relationship building
- Strong teamwork abilities
- Self-motivated with ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent written skills with attention to detail
