Parish Cleaner

Responsibilities

As Parish Cleaner, you will take responsibility for maintaining high cleaning standards across all parish spaces. Your duties will include,

• Cleaning communal areas, including stairs, sacristy, church porch, parish office, presbytery, parish halls, and the church courtyard.
• Cleaning kitchens and kitchen equipment (e.g. cooker, microwave).
• Cleaning all bathrooms and toilets.
• Polishing floors and surfaces; cleaning doors and interior windows.
• Dusting, vacuuming, emptying bins, and ensuring general tidiness across the site.
• Reporting any equipment malfunctions or building defects to the parish priest.
• Carrying out any additional ad-hoc cleaning duties as required.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay on top of multiple tasks.

• Adaptability, flexibility, and a proactive attitude toward new tasks or challenges.
• Relevant cleaning experience.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Diocese and sensitivity towards diverse groups; experience working in a faith-based or charitable organisation.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn about the Catholic Church and its structure.
• Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
