Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:00pm
Salary: £12.50 – £13.50 per hour
Start: ASAP – week-to-week basis
OverviewThe Maintenance Assistant plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the college facilities across both sites. This position involves supporting staff, students, and visitors by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The role also includes assisting with events, room setups, and general site upkeep, with customer service and service excellence at the forefront of all activities.

successful applicants must undertake a full DBS check and provide full five-year referencing.
- Support the general upkeep and presentation of buildings and grounds.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks to maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
- Monitor and report maintenance or repair issues promptly to the facilities team.
- Inspect and maintain fixtures and fittings within communal areas.
- Set up and dismantle furniture, equipment, and layouts for events, meetings, and college activities.
- Transport materials, furniture, and supplies as required.
- Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide directions and general information to enhance the visitor and student experience.
- Manage internal and external mail deliveries and collections.
- Ensure refreshments and essential supplies are adequately stocked and distributed.
- Support the security of all areas, ensuring spaces are safe and secure for students and staff.
- Report any incidents, hazards, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by the facilities team.
