SCOPE OF ROLE

The Group Legal Counsel has a broad mandate supporting the Group holding companies and will operate with a high degree of independence, exercising strong judgement and prioritisation, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the Group.

The role will include an element of each of the following: cross-border corporate transactions; M&A; capital markets projects (both equity and debt); corporate reorganisations; internal and third-party debt financing arrangements; other corporate finance and related matters; compliance and regulatory projects; advising on disputes; intellectual property; and commercial contracts.

As Group Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary and be a member of the Group Legal leadership team. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the legal affairs and corporate functions of GFG, working closely with the Management Board, C‑Suite and key GFG leaders to support decision‑making and ensure the Group meets its legal and regulatory obligations.

You will be a hands‑on and commercially minded legal counsel, with a strong professional ethic and the energy, interest and training to pursue a broad array of legal matters. As Group Legal Counsel, you will gain an excellent understanding of all aspects of the GFG business and embrace its vision of being the leading fashion and lifestyle destination across LATAM, SEA and ANZ.

WHAT IT TAKES
  • Qualified lawyer with 5–9 years’ PQE (guide only), gained primarily in private practice (in‑house experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Strong project management capability, able to run multiple material matters simultaneously.
  • Risk management capability, identifying, mitigating and managing risk in line with the organisation’s risk appetite and objectives.
  • Highly organised and self‑motivated, methodical, efficient and able to drive initiatives end‑to‑end.
  • Resilient under pressure, able to meet critical deadlines.
  • Fluent in English; an additional language is desirable (German an advantage).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
