Job Role: Solicitor – Social Housing Land Acquisition and Development

Location: West London

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Working Pattern: Hybrid

We are working with a well-established law firm to recruit a Solicitor – Social Housing Land
Acquisition and Development to join their Social Housing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor to gain exposure to high-quality transactional housing work within a respected and supportive practice.

The position would suit someone with an interest in property and social housing, who is confident managing their own matters with supervision and keen to develop their expertise in land acquisition, development and affordable housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing social housing land acquisition and development matters
  • Handling affordable home ownership disposals and acquisitions
  • Managing shared ownership purchases, staircasing and resales
  • Advising on housing management issues
  • Assisting with antisocial behaviour matters and enforcement proceedings
  • Advising on residential landlord and tenant matters
  • Drafting legal documentation, reports and correspondence
  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of legal and client service
  • Keeping up to date with developments in housing and property law

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (NQ–3 PQE)
  • Experience or strong interest in social housing, property or development work
  • Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage matters independently with appropriate supervision
  • Proactive, commercially aware and detail-oriented
  • Experience acting for registered providers, developers or housing associations is desirable
  • Exposure to shared ownership or affordable housing schemes is advantageous
