Real Estate Attorney
An established, full-service law firm with a strong national presence is seeking a Post-Completion Paralegal to join its Real Estate & Projects team in London.
This is a demanding and rewarding role within a busy property practice, offering excellent exposure to a broad range of residential property work. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive team and will have opportunities to further develop their technical skills and property knowledge.
The TeamThe Real Estate team forms a core part of the firm’s practice and advises a wide-ranging client base, including housing providers, developers, charities, and private clients. The team handles transactions ranging from individual unit sales to large-scale developments and portfolio acquisitions and disposals.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis list is not exhaustive and may evolve to meet business needs:
- Managing your own caseload of high-volume residential property sales, including shared ownership and outright sales
- Handling all aspects of post-completion work, including requisitions
- Assisting with or managing staircasing matters and residential acquisitions and disposals
- Ensuring deadlines and transaction timelines are met
- Setting up and maintaining online document rooms
- Preparing regular progress reports and invoices for clients
- Carrying out legal research as required
- Communicating professionally and effectively with clients and third parties by phone and email
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised electronic files
- Supporting fee earners within the wider team
- Adhering to internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and accounts rules
- A law degree or equivalent qualification (or conversion)
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally as a property paralegal
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and client-care skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
- Experience working with developers and/or housing associations
- Exposure to staircasing, assignments, right to buy/right to acquire, lease extensions
- Experience with residential acquisitions and disposals
- Completing SDLT returns
