Overview

Join us in this role where you’ll take a leading role in negotiating and drafting construction contracts for onshore wind projects, while supporting a broad range of legal matters including acquisitions, land development, and power purchase agreements.

Legal Onshore Europe Team

Welcome to Legal Onshore Europe. You’ll be part of our team where, together with your colleagues, you will provide high‑quality legal support to our onshore business units. Reporting to the Head of Legal for Onshore Europe, you’ll collaborate closely with project managers, contract managers, and external counsel to ensure legal compliance and commercial success across multiple jurisdictions. As a team, we value collaboration, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiating and drafting construction contracts for projects in delivery and construction stages across the UK and Ireland.
  • Supporting wind farm transaction execution activities, including due diligence, drafting, and closing.
  • Coordinating legal inputs for landowner interactions during greenfield development and M&A reviews across England, Scotland, and Wales.
  • Assisting in drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements with energy suppliers and corporate customers.
  • Advising on a range of other legal and regulatory matters, including service contracts and compliance issues.
Qualifications
  • Qualified solicitor in Scotland, England, or Ireland, with strong post‑qualification experience, preferably in an in‑house Energy corporation or a large law firm environment.
  • Strong experience in renewable energy and construction contracts, including EPC and turbine supply agreements.
  • Knowledge of property law and experience in M&A transactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to lead and influence stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and can manage complex projects across multiple jurisdictions.
