A leading global insurance organisation is seeking to hire a capable Actuary—either Qualified or Nearly Qualified
.
This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in advancing analytical excellence and supporting strategic decision‑making across a diverse and complex product set.
This is an exciting opportunity to support a portfolio of c.$450m GWP across key specialty lines including D&O, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Casualty and Environmental.
You’ll work within our integrated business model, partnering with Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Finance, Claims, Operations and Risk to deliver pricing excellence, commercial analytics and strategic insight.
About the RoleAs Actuary for Third Party Lines, you will play a pivotal role in supporting underwriting decisions and driving portfolio performance across several high‑profile product lines. You will contribute to pricing model development, strategic portfolio analysis and business planning while influencing senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Build and enhance underwriter rating tools, technical pricing frameworks and analytical platforms.
- Support individual account pricing, new business analysis, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Ensure full compliance with internal and regulatory pricing standards and underwriting risk governance.
- Lead and contribute to portfolio deep‑dives to inform business planning, remediation strategies and growth initiatives.
- Support loss ratio parameterisation for business planning and capital management, including man‑made catastrophe exposure.
- Collaborate with the Reserving team through quarterly reserving cycles, ensuring strong insight loops.
- Deliver high‑quality actuarial advice to underwriting leaders and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain full awareness of and compliance with all regulatory and conduct requirements, including SMCR Conduct Rules, Solvency II, Financial Crime, Data Protection and Fair Customer Treatment.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical actuarial skills with commercial awareness and excellent communication.
Skills & Experience- Qualified or Nearly Qualified Actuary.
- Experience in non‑life pricing—London Market preferred, though consulting, commercial lines or personal lines backgrounds are equally valued.
- Strong academic background: minimum 2:1 in a numerate discipline and strong A‑Level Maths.
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, R or Python is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, capable of adapting complex actuarial concepts to different audiences.
- Commercially minded and confident influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently or in project teams.
- A growth mindset—motivated, proactive and committed to continuous development.
- Proven ability to delegate and develop others.
- Salary:
Up to £100,000 - Annual Bonus:
17.5%
