Syndicate 2019 provides Lloyd’s investors with access to AIG’s Private Client Select (PCS) portfolio. Part of AIG since 2018, Talbot is committed to working with brokers and clients to deliver industry leading solutions. It is headquartered in London with offices in New York and Singapore.
As part of our continued expansion plans for our Marine & Energy Liabilities portfolio we now have an opportunity for an experienced Marine Liabilities Underwriter. Working in a well-respected and collegiate team you will play a key role in writing a broad and complex range of liability risks in the energy and marine market. With dual stamping capabilities as part of the wider AIG group we will give you autonomy to develop business at the same time as broadening your underwriting skills and market exposure.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Developing broker and client relationships by being market facing, developing new business in the process.
- Daily presence in the Lloyds building, as well as attending broker meetings, client meetings and facilitating company events
- Day to day servicing and underwriting of the portfolio
- Partnering with internal teams to drive portfolio performance, compliance, and efficiency.
- London Market marine underwriting experience preferred (Company market or Lloyd’s).
- Detailed knowledge of Marine Liabilities products
- Chartered Insurance Institute – Advanced Diploma or educated to degree level preferred
- Strong team working approach
- Verbal, written and professional presence and ability to communicate at all levels with excellent negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills,
- Ability to understand problems and issues quickly
- Assertive, Positive “can do” attitude.
- Calm, rational and methodical
