** Sompo  has a unique opportunity for a
** Ceded Reinsurance Technician
** in our
** UK & Europe Ceded Reinsurance Operations Department**.Sompo writes a broad range of Insurance Lines of business including Property, Aviation, Energy and Casualty which is subject to Fac & Treaty Reinsurance arrangements.  The Team covers all aspects of the ceded operational function for Sompo, for UK and European Branches.  We support the business by working with internal stakeholders such as Claims & Underwriting as well as external partners such Brokers & Reinsurers.

**** What you’ll be doing:
*** Account preparation and analysis for all ceded types.
* Assist with the cash entry and application process for all ceded types.
* Assist with the calculation and booking of premiums and claims recoveries for XOL, facultative and quota share covers within core systems.
* Prepare and maintain proportional treaty statement aging schedules for internal reporting and tracking of overdue accounts.
* Liaise with cash analysts, underwriting departments, Claims department, brokers and clients to resolve queries.
* Ensure high quality data and contract set up within the reinsurance systems.
* Assist with the ceded Aged Debt and Unallocated Cash Analysis.
* Utilisation of technology to maximize efficiency of the ceded reinsurance department.
** What you’ll bring:
*** Ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
* General knowledge of insurance and reinsurance principles.
Business line knowledge useful
* London market company experience preferred.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, Ability and confidence to challenge existing procedures & use of system
* Detailed oriented and strong problem solver with analytical abilities, Demonstrated positive attitude and works well within a Team environment
* Strong computer skills – knowledge of Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and MS PowerPoint, preferred SAP
