Ocean Infinity is seeking Strategic Delivery Managers to operate at the intersection of executive intent and operational execution. This role is accountable for translating high-priority strategic objectives into structured, executable delivery across complex operational environments. Acting with the authority and oversight of a Programme Manager, but embedded within live operational settings, the Strategic Delivery Manager leads cross-functional initiatives that may sit outside formal portfolio structures.

The role is typically engaged directly by an Executive Lead to:

  • Deliver business-critical initiatives that cut across functions
  • Stabilise, accelerate, or unblock strategically important work
  • Establish governance, clarity, and momentum in ambiguous or emerging areas
  • Drive execution excellence in operational or production environments

The Strategic Delivery Manager ensures that strategic ambition becomes measurable, sustainable operational reality.

What You Will Do
  • Overseeing large-scale operational programmes (e.g. physical asset delivery, capability builds, system transformations, production ramp-ups)
  • Leading executive-priority initiatives not housed within standard project/programme frameworks
  • Creating delivery structure where none formally exists
  • Aligning commercial, operational, technical, and people considerations into a coherent execution roadmap
  • Acting as a proxy for the Executive Lead in structured delivery forums
  • Holding delegated decision-making authority on delivery approach, sequencing, prioritisation, and cross-functional coordination, escalating only where decisions materially alter agreed strategy, risk appetite, or financial thresholds
Who You Are
  • Proven experience in programme or portfolio management, strategic delivery, or transformation leadership.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, MSP).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with a track record of aligning delivery with business strategy.
  • Ability to extract, manipulate, and interpret data.
  • Proficiency in eliciting, capturing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Skill in mapping and analysing business processes.
  • Understanding of system architecture, databases, APIs, and sometimes LLM tooling and AI Agents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to act as a bridge between business and IT, facilitate meetings, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on project goals.
Desirable
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, MSP, or Agile qualifications.
  • Experience with in the marine or engineering industries

Salary for this position: Up to £85,000 per annum
