Role

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Lead to join our IT team. To manage application performance, troubleshoot software applications and provide incident resolutions liaising between technical teams and business users.

Description
  • Serve as the main liaison between the Atrium users and third-party vendors
  • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and elevate issues as needed.
  • Coordinate application upgrades, patches, and enhancements with external providers.
Continuity & Resilience
  • Identify and list resilience scenarios and impacts. Collate and document desktop exercise sign off with the business team, at least annually.
  • Plan and run at least one DR test per year per application covering infrastructure, personnel or process scenarios.
  • Create playbooks on BCP for all owned applications with the objective of a repository of accessible knowledge
  • Vulnerability tracking & resolution
  • Owning and communicating resilience progress
Application & User Support
  • Troubleshoot and work with both internal teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain system health through proactive monitoring
  • Ensure vendor-delivered solutions align with business needs and compliance standards by understanding the detail and translating business needs where necessary.
  • Ensure changes/releases are tested appropriately including carrying out tests or checks
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and changes.
  • Ensure that the correct processes are followed
  • Plan & assist with user training
  • Coordinate with other IT teams and business teams to ensure maximum effectiveness of application.
  • Review existing change management, deployment, and testing. Recommend and deliver process improvements and automation where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls & audit requirements, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize application performance and user experience.
Information Technology/Technical Knowledge Communication
  • Ability to communicate well with vendors, internal and external teams as well as vendors and stakeholders in order to resolve issues.
  • Able to manage projects for enhancements and upgrades.
Relationship Management
  • Experience managing third‑party vendors and service contracts.
  • Ability to liaise with external suppliers to ensure development work is progressing in line with expectations.
  • Able to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with other staff.
Analytical
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving skills for technical issues
  • Ability to assist in gathering and communicating requirements in a structured manner.
  • Ability to design test strategy appropriate to application
Administration and Compliance
  • Able to operate at all times to the standards and rules set out in the firm’s standards documents.

Ability to write and review documentation to support all new items developed and promoted to live.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • ITIL certification or experience with IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience in the Lloyd’s insurance market or similar regulated environments.
  • Project management or delivery experience.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on building strong relationships.
  • Good technical understanding of application support
