QA Engineer Lead

Role summary

You will own product quality across releases by designing test coverage, maintaining high-signal test assets (manual plus automated), and acting as the final quality gate before production. You will scope and run sprint and release QA, produce evidence-based sign-off notes, and drive clear defect triage and retest loops. You will coordinate offshore QA testing cycles and partner with offshore Dev to implement stable automation that runs in CI.

Success is measured by regression coverage on critical flows, predictable QA execution, fewer escaped defects, and improving automation stability (tracked flake rate).

• Risk-based regression suite that stays current with product changes

• Release readiness quality gate, including documented go/no-go sign-off notes

• Sprint QA scope, smoke/regression execution, and clear pass/fail criteria

• Test artefacts that scale across teams: checklists, data setup steps, and evidence standards

• Offshore QA cadence, daily triage rhythm, and clean handoffs

• Defect quality (repro clarity, severity consistency, retest discipline)

• Automation coverage plan for regression-critical flows (implemented with offshore Dev)

• CI test stability and flaky test management (signal quality over raw test counts)

• Write and maintain industry-standard test cases (functional, regression, integration, permission-based, negative testing)

• Build and refine a risk-based regression suite, prioritising high-change and high-impact areas

• Define test data needs and document data setup steps for repeatable execution

• Maintain QA templates and standards (test plan format, evidence expectations, pass/fail rules)

• Define QA scope per sprint, run smoke/regression, and track coverage versus scope

• Partner with Product and Dev to tighten acceptance criteria and edge cases before build is “done”

• Produce release sign-off notes summarising scope tested, defects, risks, and recommendation

• Validate fixes through structured retest loops, including regression impact checks

• Collaborate with offshore Dev to implement and document automated tests (UI plus API where appropriate)

• Ensure automated tests run in CI with clear ownership, triage, and maintenance expectations

• Establish flaky test workflow, track flake rate, and drive stabilisation work

• Keep automation coverage aligned to regression-critical flows and real product risk

• Plan and run offshore testing cycles with clear handoffs (scope, readiness, data, criteria)

• Run daily defect triage during test cycles, keep prioritisation consistent and practical

• Raise high-quality defects (clear repro, expected vs actual, impact, screenshots/logs where relevant)

• Close the loop, verify fixes, confirm no regressions, and surface release risks early

• 3+ years in QA for an enterprise B2B SaaS product (or similar complexity)

• Strong manual testing skills and ability to write clear, structured test cases

• Experience building or operating a risk-based regression approach

• Experience running sprint/release QA, including smoke/regression and release sign-off notes

• Experience working with offshore Dev and offshore QA teams on structured testing cycles

• Solid defect management skills (severity, prioritisation, repro quality, retest discipline)

• Comfortable collaborating on automation and CI stability, including flaky test handling

• Strong written and verbal communication, able to drive clarity across Product and Dev

• Based in Singapore and able to work onsite

• Experience designing reliable UI and/or API automation (stability and maintainability focus)

• Experience operating CI test suites and improving signal quality over time

• Experience testing permission-heavy workflows and role-based access controls

• Strong product sense, spots risk early and drives better acceptance criteria and edge case coverage

• Experience running offshore QA operations with high-quality handoffs and predictable cadence

• Certifications:
