We are seeking a motivated and reliable Junior IT Support Technician to provide first-line (Level
1) IT support across the firm.
This role will focus on day-to-day operational IT tasks, user support and equipment setup, allowing the Head of IT to concentrate on larger technical projects, security, and strategic initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their IT career, offering strong hands‑on experience, mentoring and clear development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:User & Device Support
- Set up and configure user profiles on PCs and laptops (Windows environments)
- Assist with new starter and leaver IT setup processes
- Troubleshoot day‑to‑day Level 1 IT issues (hardware, software, access, basic connectivity)
- Provide friendly and professional IT support to staff
- Install, configure, and maintain standard business software
- Support Windows updates and Microsoft 365 (Office 365) updates
- Assist with basic account issues (password resets, access problems, application errors)
- Set up desks, monitors, monitor arms, keyboards, mice, docks, and peripherals
- Assist with moving and re‑configuring IT equipment across offices
- Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and fault identification
- Liaise with suppliers for equipment where required
- Assist with telecoms issues
, including desk phones, mobile devices, and softphones - Support setup and troubleshooting of laptops, smartphones, and other smart devices
- Escalate complex telecoms issues where appropriate
- Shadow the Head of IT to gain exposure to:
- IT projects
- Security and compliance work
- Infrastructure and system improvements
- Learn internal IT processes, documentation, and best practices
- Gradually take ownership of routine IT tasks as confidence grows
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Office applications
- Strong willingness to learn and develop IT skills
- Good problem‑solving and troubleshooting mindset
- Clear communication skills and a helpful, professional attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and document work
