Senior Azure AI Engineer

📍 On site with a London based enterprise customer 5 days per week (more flexible after this initial engagement)

This opportunity sits within a global IT solutions and managed services provider with a strong reputation for delivering complex cloud, data and AI programmes into enterprise and public sector customers.

They are investing heavily in their Azure AI capability and are hiring a Senior Consultant to join their AI practice. This is a customer facing, design and delivery role focused on building and operating Azure AI platforms using Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI in real world, production environments.

You will work as part of a wider delivery team and either contribute to or technically lead small to medium sized engagements. You will be trusted as the Azure AI subject matter expert on projects, owning technical decisions and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and fit for purpose.

• You will be delivering enterprise grade Azure AI platforms, not running proofs of concept that never see production.
• You will have real ownership across design, implementation and operational readiness, including model governance and access control.
• You will operate as a recognised Azure AI expert within engagements, influencing both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• There is a clear pathway to progress within a growing AI practice where technical depth and customer impact are genuinely valued.

• Design and deliver Azure AI platforms using Azure AI Foundry, with a strong focus on Azure OpenAI services.
• Deploy, configure and manage AI models in production environments, including model lifecycle management, access control, RBAC and operational oversight.
• Integrate Azure AI services into wider Azure platforms and workflows, ensuring alignment to security, networking and storage best practice.
• Lead or contribute to small and medium sized consulting engagements end to end, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and customer expectations.
• Act as a technical authority within engagements, confidently communicating complex concepts to both technical and non technical audiences.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the ongoing development of the wider AI and Consulting practice.

• 3 to 5 years experience delivering customer solutions within a consulting or professional services environment.
• Strong hands on experience with Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI, including deploying and supporting AI services in production with active user adoption.
• Proficiency in Python and Power Shell.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra, including identity, access control, RBAC and Managed Identities.
• Solid understanding of core Azure services including networking, storage, resource groups and security.
• Exposure to Azure data platform technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory or SQL.
• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments would be advantageous.
