The degree apprenticeship with University Sheffield Hallam is a 3‑year course in which you will study part time alongside your full‑time role. You’ll have an initial 10‑week bootcamp on campus. The curriculum covers modules such as Software lifecycle, System Context, Leadership & Design approaches. The degree includes a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.

We are looking for tech‑passionate individuals who want to start their career as an apprentice in the IT industry. You will join a business area working for our largest UK public sector client, learning from inspiring experts and enjoying the career opportunities this brings. On joining, you will be assigned to start in one of the following roles.

• Candidates will have a passion for technology and relish the opportunity to work on projects helping to guide and transform how our global clients manage and operate, streamlining processes and enhancing business operations.

• Candidates will have an interest in designing, building & testing SAP code, SAP interfaces, migrating data to SAP data and/or SAP cloud‑based technology.

• Candidates will have an interest in designing, building, testing and implementing SAP transformations for our clients and/or in learning to manage SAP projects.

You will need to be based within a commutable distance to your chosen office where you should expect to typically be in our office 3 days a week.

To be eligible, you need:

• 7 GCSEs including Maths and English grades 4‑9

Plus, one of the following:

• 3 A*‑C at A‑level (

• Completed Advanced Apprenticeship
• BTEC (Pass, Pass, Distinction minimum)

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre‑employment checks, including identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.

Other criteria and checks are required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
