Overview
Business Analyst (ZEMA / Market Data Systems) | £800 inside IR35 | Energy Trading | 6 Months Rolling | London 2–3 days per week
A leading global energy trading organisation is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support implementation, onboarding and integration of the Zema platform to their market data and analytics ecosystem. This role focuses on third-party system integration, dataflow optimisation, and technical alignment across trading, risk, and analytics functions.
While ZEMA experience is ideal, the client will also consider candidates with strong integration experience across similar market data platforms (e.g, ICE, Trayport, Bloomberg data integrations, or other vendor-driven data ingestion platforms), with transferable skills in ingestion pipelines, data transformations, and vendor system connectivity.
💰 Up to £800 per day (Inside IR35)

Hybrid – 2–3 days per week in London
- Own and optimise integrations between ZEMA (or equivalent systems) and internal trading, risk, and analytics applications.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data ingestion workflows, transformations, mappings, and downstream distributions.
- Collaborate with technical teams, traders, quants, and market data SMEs to understand integration requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Liaise with external vendors and internal engineering teams to coordinate changes, enhancements, and interface updates.
- Document integration architectures, dataflow diagrams, and end-to-end functional behaviour of connected systems.
- Support testing, UAT cycles, release planning, and validation of integration changes.
- Proactively monitor data quality, identify issues, and drive root-cause resolution across ingestion and outbound distribution layers.
- Experience with ZEMA is highly advantageous
- Hands-on knowledge of data ingestion pipelines, APIs, feeds, transformations, validation rules, and dataflow configuration.
- Ability to work with trading, risk, and operations teams, understanding the data they consume and the role it plays in decision-making.
- Strong documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and navigating complex enterprise data environments.
