As a Security Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimise the technical controls that protect Convertr’s platform, infrastructure, and data. Working closely with the Security Lead, development teams, and operations, you will ensure that security is embedded across the organisation’s cloud environments, products, and internal systems.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy, maintain, and optimise security tooling, including EDR, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and cloud native security tools.
- Implement secure configurations and hardening standards across cloud and on prem infrastructure.
- Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and detection logic, supporting proactive threat identification.
- Lead technical investigations, assist with incident response, and support root cause analysis.
- Support secure development processes, including code scanning, pipeline security, and secret management.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Dev Ops teams to embed security into operational workflows.
- Manage vulnerability management lifecycle, from scanning through to remediation tracking.
- Automate security tasks and control checks to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide technical input into risk assessments, supplier reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standards to support ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 compliance.
- Strong experience in cloud security (AWS and/or Azure).
- Experience with modern security tooling.
- Understanding of vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response processes.
- Experience supporting ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and/or SOC 2 certifications.
- Familiarity with secure development practices.
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a technical security role.
- Related security certification such as CRISC, CISMP, CISM, CCSK.
- Experience with cloud security.
- Familiarity with IAM best practices.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
