The Department / School / CollegeIT Services provides the essential digital infrastructure and technical solutions that underpin the University’s mission and values, ensuring a seamless technological experience for all students and staff. We facilitate the teaching, research, and administrative processes by delivering robust, high-performance systems and professional support.
The RoleThe IT Engineer serves as a vital link between IT Services and the University community. This is a multifaceted position, requiring the professional to be equally effective providing remote first-line support and hands-on second-line desktop intervention. You will manage the full lifecycle of an incident—from the initial phone call or ticket at the Service Desk to the physical repair or configuration of a device in a classroom or office.
The PersonCandidates must be educated to Degree Level (or equivalent) and possess significant experience providing first and second-line IT support. Applicants must be self-motivated with a proactive approach to technical troubleshooting, demonstrating strong mentorship abilities, organizational skills, and a meticulous eye for detail.
A proven ability to work effectively within a high-pressure team environment is essential. The post holder will work a hybrid shift pattern (8am–8pm) across various University sites, including weekends as required
