What You’ll Be DoingAs a Data Engineering Apprentice
, you’ll work as part of our Data Platform team, gaining hands‑on experience while learning from experienced data engineers. With support and structured training, you will:
- Assist with building, maintaining and monitoring data pipelines that move and transform data reliably across the business.
- Support data platform operations, including helping with migrations and improvements to existing data systems.
- Contribute to the delivery of data products that are secure, scalable and designed with end users in mind.
- Collaborate closely with the wider Technology team, as well as the wider data community across Compare the Market.
- Learn and apply modern cloud technologies and data tooling, such as AWS, through real‑world engineering work.
This is an apprenticeship role, so we’re focused on potential rather than extensive experience. We’re looking for someone who brings:
- A genuine interest in data, technology or engineering, with a desire to build a career in data engineering.
- Some exposure to programming, data concepts or cloud platforms, gained through study, self‑learning or personal projects.
- A problem‑solving mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and technologies.
- The ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non‑technical teams.
- Strong communication skills, curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning and development.
