Senior​/ML Research Engineer

We're hiring a Senior/Staff ML Research Engineer in London for one of the most exciting conversational AI companies in the world.

Backed by $231M from a16z, Accel, and Bain Capital Ventures, and trusted by some of the world’s most recognisable enterprise brands — this team is redefining what AI agents can do across chat, email, and voice at massive scale.

You’ll sit on the core Research team, owning work end-to-end from ambiguous idea through to production — at a scale that impacts millions of users. This isn’t prompt engineering. This is frontier ML research shipping to the real world.

• Building models for enterprise customer support tasks that outperform closed-source frontier models
• Fine-tuning and deploying open-source LLMs to drive order-of-magnitude latency reductions across channels
• Designing state-of-the-art methods for instruction tuning and information retrieval
• Breaking down complex research problems into clear, iterative roadmaps
• Writing clean, bug-free ML code that powers production systems at scale

• 7+ years in AI/ML engineering or research (5+ for exceptional talent)
• Proven track record shipping ML projects from concept to production
• Deep experience fine-tuning and deploying LLMs in production environments
• Experience with multimodal models
• Strong engineering fundamentals — you write production-quality ML code
