Within JCDecaux UK, the role of Business Intelligence Lead (BIL) is pivotal for driving data‑driven decision making by analysing, visualising, and reporting on business metrics, trends, and insights to improve performance and achieve company objectives.

The role reports to the Technical Solutions Director (TSD) and works alongside the Enterprise & Solution Architect (ESA), Technical Implementation (TIL) and Data Services (DSL) Leads and developers or external consultants within the Technical Solutions department.

The BIL manages a team of Business Intelligence Analysts and Business Intelligence Developers to deliver the core reporting platforms used across the business.

Key partnerships include:

  • Technical Implementation – to ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment with technical requirements
  • Data Services – to ensure data integrity and availability during and after system upgrades
  • Developers or external consultants – to guarantee that cloud‑based solutions align with implementation strategies

As part of JCDecaux UK, an evolving company, the BIL is integral in ensuring that data‑driven insights lead to consistent improvements in processes, strategies, and overall business performance.

What You'll Be Doing Capabilities and Leadership
  • Ability to lead, motivate, inspire and manage a team of diverse technical professionals to continuously exceed customer expectations
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Understand business needs and translate them into BI requirements and solutions.
  • Anticipate BI needs based on industry trends and company strategies, ensuring JCDecaux remains at the forefront of BI practices.
  • Assist departments in understanding their data and provide insights to improve business processes.
Operational
  • Oversee the creation and management of dashboards, reports, and visualisations
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Comply with IT and data security protocols, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
Data Management & Support
  • Act as a primary point of contact for BI related queries and issues
  • Support departments in deriving insights from BI tools and reports
  • Ensure that data sources are accurate, timely, and reliable Vendor Management
  • Develop strong relationships with BI tool providers, cloud service vendors, and consultancy firms
  • Ensure services provided by third‑party vendors align with company BI requirements
Quality Management
  • Commit to continuous improvement by examining data quality, report accuracy, and user feedback
  • Ensure BI processes are well‑documented, auditable, and regularly reviewed for optimisation
  • Ensure BI customer experience (CX) is consistent across all reporting dashboards
  • Collaborate closely with other leads, ensuring seamless data flow and integrated BI solutions
  • Advise on BI best practices, tools, and strategies to enhance team productivity
  • Assist teams in interpreting and leveraging data insights for business improvements
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Hold regular meetings with business stakeholders to discuss BI findings, insights, and recommendations
  • Present data insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Foster strong relationships with business units, ensuring BI solutions align with their needs
Personal
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis and visualisation
  • Strong proficiency in English
  • Ability to communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
  • Self‑driven with a passion for business intelligence and data analytics
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven skills in documentation, report writing, and presenting
A little about you Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Business, IT, Data Science, or related fields or experience
  • Advanced proficiency in BI tools like Power‑BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure;
    Experience in working within a cross‑functional technical team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver BI projects
  • Experience in data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
