Systems Engineer

Overview:

A well funded, high frequency trading firm are looking to add a front office Systems Engineer to the team to help keep core data acquisition and production systems fast, stable, and low touch. This is a hands on seat where you will work close to engineers who build the services, and you’ll be trusted to spot issues early, tune performance, and remove repeat operational work through automation.

• Own day to day reliability for a globally distributed platform that supports time sensitive workloads
• Investigate incidents, fix root causes, and improve monitoring so problems are caught before they escalate
• Tune Linux and network performance across hosts, services, and AWS cloud networking components
• Partner with developers on architecture choices, prioritisation, and production readiness
• Improve tooling and processes that reduce manual support and speed up recovery
• Work with a central infrastructure group to align on standards and shared services

• 2 to 6 years in software engineering, Infrastructure, Dev Ops, SRE, or Platform Engineering
• Strong AWS experience in production, plus confidence with networking in multi region setups
• Solid Linux fundamentals and comfort troubleshooting at the OS and network layer
• Programming ability in C# and/or Rust (Python, Java also considered)
• Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible, or similar
• A practical mindset: you enjoy making systems simpler, quieter, and more observable
