SQL DBA - SC Cleared
6 Month Contract
Hybrid - 2 days a week onsite

We are seeking a SQL DBA to join our high profile public sector client's Technology division and help maintain the critical systems that keep the UK economy running.

Their Technology team delivers secure, resilient, and high‑performing solutions across the organisation. Working within the Hosting Domain and part of their DB Services team, you'll support and enhance the SQL Server estate they continue to improve and modernise their platforms.

• Manage, maintain, and optimise SQL Server databases
• Configure and support SQL Server environments and related processes
• Monitor performance and health of database systems
• Ensure high levels of system resilience, availability, and security
• Diagnose and resolve database issues in real time
• Provide recommendations for performance, automation, and process improvements
• Assist Developers with schema design, query tuning, and optimisation
• Refine and automate key processes, documenting changes and tracking issues
• Participate in 24/7 support rota for critical production systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and assist with release deployments outside business hours

• Experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
• Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success

• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
