AI Engineering Manager

We’re working with a large enterprise client to appoint an AI Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of enterprise-scale AI solutions, with a focus on LLMs, AI agents, and GenAI platforms.

This is a technical leadership role—not hands-on coding day to day, but requiring sufficient depth to challenge design decisions, assure quality, and guide senior engineers.

You’ll be responsible for building and leading an AI engineering function, owning delivery from early experimentation through to production deployment, and partnering closely with architecture, product, and governance teams.

• Own the technical direction of LLM and AI agent initiatives
• Lead and mentor AI engineers delivering enterprise-scale solutions
• Translate business problems into robust AI architectures
• Ensure AI systems are secure, scalable, and production-ready

• Proven leadership in managing technical teams and complex delivery
• AI delivery experience, including GenAI, LLM-based systems, AI agents, or conversational AI
• Strong technical foundation in software engineering principles (Python preferred)
• Business-focused mindset, able to evaluate AI initiatives through an ROI lens
• Cloud and AI knowledge, including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, and modern AI tooling
• Solid Python knowledge
• Familiarity with Claude and similar frontier models
• Production experience using Lang Chain
• PhD, MSc or BSc in a AI/ML or similar discipline
• RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases
• Prompt management, evaluation, and observability
• Cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Enterprise concerns: security, governance, and cost control
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical decision-making
