Are you an experienced reporting professional ready to shape how student data drives decision-making across a world-leading university?

As Student Lifecycle Reporting Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of high-quality reporting and analytics solutions that support the full student journey — from enrolment through to completion. You will play a central role in evolving our reporting approach, helping to embed a robust and sustainable self-service reporting model using Microsoft Power BI and Fabric.

This is a strategic and hands-on role at the heart of Registry, working across academic departments and professional services to ensure student data is accessible, trusted and impactful.

What you would be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Help lead and manage the student lifecycle reporting backlog, ensuring requests are clearly defined, prioritised and aligned with institutional needs.
  • Oversee a structured intake process for new reporting and data requests, assessing business value, feasibility and impact.
  • Act as the main liaison between Registry, academic departments and ICT, translating business requirements into robust and sustainable reporting solutions.
  • Shape and maintain Power BI/Fabric dataflows, datasets and work spaces to support both centrally managed and self-service reporting.
  • Develop and maintain an accessible student lifecycle Data Dictionary to support confident and consistent use of data across the university.
  • Support the transition to a more mature, self-service reporting environment, promoting best practice, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for

We are seeking someone who combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience working with business stakeholders to gather, refine and prioritise reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing a reporting backlog with competing demands in a complex environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including dataflows, work spaces, permissions and governance.
  • The ability to design, maintain and troubleshoot Power BI datasets and semantic models.
  • Experience translating technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences.
  • An understanding of data privacy principles, particularly when working with sensitive personal data.
  • A collaborative and diplomatic approach, with the confidence to manage expectations and communicate constraints constructively.

Microsoft Certified:
Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent experience is essential.

Experience of Power BI Fabric or similar enterprise-level self-service BI environments would be advantageous.

What we can offer you
  • The opportunity to shape the future of student lifecycle reporting at a global top ten university.
  • A key role in advancing our self-service analytics capability using Power BI and Fabric.
  • The chance to work collaboratively across Registry, academic departments and ICT, influencing how data informs strategic decision-making.
  • A sector-leading salary and remuneration package, including 41 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes.
  • Flexible working arrangements from day one, alongside a range of family-friendly policies and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
