Divisional CIO/CTO – Data Engineering & Platforms

Reporting to: CTO

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a senior technology leader to own and transform their enterprise data platforms. This role is ideal for a CIO/CTO‑level operator with deep data engineering
, platform modernisation
, and cloud transformation expertise.

You’ll lead a major migration to Snowflake
, drive engineering excellence, uplift data controls, and manage a 50–60‑strong multi‑disciplinary team across the UK and offshore. The environment is mission‑critical, highly regulated, and deeply connected to investment decision‑making.

• Set strategy and technical direction for data platforms & engineering
• Lead the legacy‑to‑Snowflake migration
• Build strong relationships with front‑office investment professionals
• Work closely with senior Business, Risk & Compliance leaders
• Establish modern engineering standards and cloud‑native foundations

• Senior tech leader: CIO, Deputy CIO, Divisional CTO or Head of Data Engineering/Head of Data and AI.
• Financial services experience is essential
• Proven delivery of large‑scale data platform transformations (Snowflake ideal)
• Strong stakeholder presence and ability to influence at executive level
• Experience running operationally critical data environments with robust controls
