DevOps Engineer

What you’ll do

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for real production services.
• Write and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including modules, multi‑environment setups, and troubleshooting.
• Deploy and operate microservices on AWS using container services such as ECS/Fargate.
• Work directly with delivery teams to support deployments, environment issues, and release readiness.
• Set up and support monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Help teams follow engineering principles – testing, automation, repeatability, and secure‑by‑default configurations.
• Work with AWS networking fundamentals (VPCs, lattice, subnets, routing, security groups).
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, environment problems, and runtime issues, communicate root cause and fix.
• Contribute to shared tooling, reusable patterns, and templates.

• Solid hands‑on experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab preferred).
• Strong practical knowledge of Terraform – write clean code, understand modules, debug issues independently.
• Good experience working with AWS, including basic networking, IAM, container services, and environment setups.
• Comfortable with Docker and running workloads on container platforms such as ECS/Fargate.
• Experience supporting services beyond development – testing, deployments, production operations.
• Good understanding of monitoring and observability tools (Cloud Watch, Grafana, vFunction, Dynatrace).
• Ability to work through problems methodically and explain reasoning clearly.
• Experience working in multi‑team environments where tooling and patterns are shared across many services.
• A collaborative mindset – work with developers, platform teams, SREs, adapt as platform evolves.

• Experience with event‑driven systems or Kafka.
• Exposure to large‑scale migration or modernisation programmes.
• Background in public sector or regulated environments.
