You will work with a collaborative, customer-focused team to create customised solutions that help customers achieve their goals and guide their businesses forward.
Reporting to the Manager, Field Engineering.
The impact you will have:
- Own the overall technical engagement and lead the globally distributed field engineering team at a large Oil & Gas customer.
- Partner with the Global Account Director to develop customer engagement strategies and orchestrate global account execution, ensuring work is coordinated, consistent, and impactful across BUs, geographies, and work streams.
- Coach junior Solutions Architects and teams on use case prioritisation and building technical champions.
- Influence stakeholders at all levels through complex engagements with the wider cloud ecosystem and 3rd-party applications, ensuring they are excited about the Databricks vision and solution strategy.
- Act as a champion for both customers and colleagues, serving as an expert solution architect and trusted advisor for significant data analytics architecture, design, and adoption of the Databricks Lakehouse platform.
- Contribute to Databricks' technical community engagement by developing customer-facing collateral and leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
- Opportunity to continue development in one of four tracks: technical specialisation, industry vertical thought leadership, strategic customer vision, and people management.
What we look for:
- Ability to engage with a globally distributed customer and manage complex interactions and sales life cycles in a technical pre-sales capacity.
- Experience in the Strategic Account:
Energy, Utilities, or Oil & Gas verticals. - A first-principles thinker with an AI-builder mindset and a deep curiosity for learning.
- Background in Data Science / Generative AI / Machine Learning / Data Warehousing or Data Engineering.
- Ability to set strategic vision with peers and customers and influence decision-makers and C-level executives through developing relationships and orchestrating teams for long-term customer success.
- Experience with coding in core languages (Python, PySpark or SQL) and willingness to learn Spark.
- Hands-on expertise with complex proofs-of-concept and public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Knowledge of providing technical solutions for specialised customer needs and navigating a competitive landscape.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites in the UK and to London offices, approximately 20-30% travel, plus quarterly international travel.
