Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Core Cloud Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of mission‑critical cloud services within a high‑profile UK government department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving cloud transformation at scale, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient cloud‑based platforms that support nationally significant services. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and deep understanding of enterprise cloud environments within complex, regulated organisations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of core cloud services across multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Manage delivery roadmaps, milestones, risks, and dependencies
  • Oversee cloud platform operations, resilience, and service optimisation
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, and Dev Ops teams
  • Ensure alignment with government digital standards and compliance requirements
  • Manage third‑party suppliers and delivery partners
  • Provide transparent reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement and cloud cost optimisation initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience delivering large‑scale cloud programmes in complex environments
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Demonstrable experience working within UK government or highly regulated sectors
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and commercial controls
  • Strong understanding of Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional technical teams
Desirable
  • Experience in secure government cloud environments
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management principles
  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience delivering infrastructure or platform modernisation programmes
