About the job Database Administrator (DBA) - London
Note:

Job Summary: Our Client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and oversee their database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate will be adept at troubleshooting, performance tuning, and managing both production and development databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS), including SQL and No
SQL databases. - Ensure data integrity and security through backup and recovery processes, access controls, and data encryption.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Develop, manage, and test database backup and recovery plans.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and database objects.
- Design and implement database solutions, including data modeling, database design, and schema changes.
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation and provide training to other team members on database management best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, Postgre
SQL, Oracle, and Mongo
DB. - Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.
Experience with backup and recovery, replication, and high-availability configurations. - Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
