Data Privacy Manager, Global Banking Organisation

London based, hybrid working.

My client is a global banking organisation looking to hire an experienced Data Privacy Manager, the role will support the Data Privacy team and regional Data Protection Officers (DPOs) in ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection requirements.

As Data Privacy Manager, you will provide practical advice on cross-border data movement, GDPR compliance, offshoring/outsourcing initiatives, and other data privacy matters, while supporting the implementation of a consistent EMEA Data Privacy Compliance Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Data Privacy Manager will advise the bank, including Business Process Owners, on data privacy and protection obligations.
  • Support DPOs with compliance activities, DPIAs, transfer risk assessments, and cross-border data flow assessments.
  • Develop and implement EMEA data privacy and protection compliance programs.
  • Manage privacy incidents, breach reporting, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Support vendor data privacy reviews and third-party risk management processes.
  • Track and report regional data privacy trends and metrics to senior management and global teams.
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and coordinate necessary program enhancements.
  • Drive process improvements and ensure effective documentation and reporting across the region.
EXPERIENCE
  • Strong experience in UK/EU data privacy and protection, including cross-border data transfers.
  • Candidates will be fully versed in managing multiple impact assessments including DPIAs, TRAs and CBDMs.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regional or global team environment.
Preferred:
  • Experience in banking/financial services.
  • Experience advising on data privacy issues in complex, global organizations.
  • Knowledge of EMEA data protection laws outside the EU/UK, e.g., Middle East/Africa.
