We offer hybrid working, with occasional presence at one of our Holland & Barrett offices in London or Nuneaton (or another designated H&B location) for team meetings, collaboration sessions and key events.

We're looking for a Senior IT & OT Cyber Engineer to be the technical authority safeguarding these critical environments.

This is a senior, hands‑on role for a cyber professional who thrives where IT meets the physical world – retail systems, logistics automation and distributed operational technology. You'll own security engineering decisions, shape standards and influence how we design, configure and protect technology across hundreds of locations.

As our Senior IT & OT Cyber Engineer, you will:

• Own the security posture of IT and OT systems across stores, warehouses and operational environments
• Lead secure design, hardening and assurance of IT platforms that support or integrate with OT
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex cyber security issues
• Define and enforce engineering standards that protect availability, safety and customer experience

• Lead IT/OT network segmentation and secure connectivity models
• Set direction for secure remote access into operational environments
• Provide technical leadership on identity, endpoint, network and firewall security

• Own cyber risk assessments for distributed and operational technologies
• Make pragmatic, risk‑based decisions balancing security, safety and operational impact
• Support incident response and recovery as a senior technical advisor

• Act as a trusted security partner to engineering, operations and facilities teams
• Translate complex technical risks into clear, business‑focused guidance
• Mentor engineers and raise security capability across the organisation

• Drive maturity of IT & OT security tooling and practices
• Track emerging threats and embed lessons learned into standards and designs

You're a senior cyber engineer who enjoys owning complex problems end‑to‑end. You understand that security in operational environments is about enabling the business safely – not saying "no." You combine deep technical expertise with sound judgement, strong communication skills and the credibility to influence at all levels.

• Significant hands‑on experience securing enterprise IT environments
• Exposure to OT, operational or highly distributed technologies
• Strong expertise in Active Directory, Entra  endpoint management
• Advanced troubleshooting across identity, endpoints, networks and operational systems
• Deep understanding of network security: segmentation, firewalls, VPNs and remote access
• Confidence leading technical decisions and setting engineering direction

• Experience assessing and securely configuring third‑party technologies
• Networking knowledge at Network+ level or above
• Background in retail, logistics or other 24/7 operational environments
• Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, BMS or industrial IoT
• Knowledge of IEC 62443 or comparable OT security frameworks
• Relevant certifications in networking, security or identity
