Job Introduction

We’re looking for a sharp, dynamic, and culturally fluent Gaming Multimedia Journalist to help shape the next generation of video-first storytelling across the Daily Mail’s 150M-strong social ecosystem and our growing network of digital brands.

This is a hybrid role: part writer, part on-screen talent, part creative producer. You’ll pitch, script, and front stories that live across Tik Tok, Reels, You Tube, Snap, and beyond - from explainers and reviews to reaction content and breaking news.

You'll be at the heart of a new mission: to build high-quality, talent-led content that resonates with younger audiences and unlocks new commercial opportunities.

Main Responsibilities

• Front gaming content across short-form and long-form platforms (Tik Tok, Reels, You Tube, Snap), bringing personality, clarity, and journalistic edge
• Write punchy scripts and editorial copy for videos, social posts, newsletters, and occasional long reads
• Develop original formats, review series, or reaction content in collaboration with editors and producers
• Shape and own your gaming vertical - identifying trends, surfacing untold stories, and creating franchise-worthy formats
• Support branded content and commercial campaigns with premium, advertiser-friendly storytelling

Person Specification

• Strong on-camera presence with editorial instincts and a passion for gaming culture
• A sharp sense for what works on social - from headlines and hooks to platform pacing
• Demonstrated ability to write clearly and creatively for digital formats
• A clear niche in gaming you can own - whether that’s esports, streaming culture, AAA reviews, or indie gems
• Agile, collaborative mindset with the ability to work fast and adapt to trends
